Habitat for Humanity's ReStores are second hand stores that accept and resell new and gently used items donated by businesses and the general public. All sales from this social enterprise generate much needed funds to support Habitat's home building program which provides affordable housing for families experiencing housing stress, restoring their safety, dignity and domestic stability. The importance of ReStore to our affordable home building program has never been more important as the housing crisis facing Victorian families continues to worsen. We want to be able to provide more affordable housing and ReStore help us to reach this goal. So your support of ReStore makes a real difference in people's lives.
At the same time, this enterprise reduces the amount of used materials going into landfill. So it's a good deal - for you, the community and the environment!
ReStore is different, and offers a unique shopping experience. The inventory is always changing, as new items are donated by local residents and businesses daily. Customers can expect to find items such as: home furniture and appliances, office furniture, general hardware and tools, building materials, books and CDs. The net proceeds from ReStore are channelled to support our affordable home-building program.
ReStore also offers the public and businesses the opportunity to recycle unwanted items in an environmentally friendly way. You can avoid sending items to landfill by donating to this great cause, knowing that you helping to provide more affordable housing for low income families in need.
Instead of sending your businesses’ SLOBS (Slow moving and Obsolete Stocks) to landfill, consider contacting ReStore and donating them for recycling and to support our programs.
